MY DIVING STORY

I’ve been a scuba diver since a family vacation in June of 2007 when I was 10 years old. Certified by Kapalua Divers with Instructor Dennis T. Tepu., then after diving regularly on vacations over the years, I dove in Costa Rica, Hawaii and the Maldives.

Completing rigorous advanced recreational dive training in early 2018 with Connect Ocean Academy in Costa Rica with instructor Ernst Van Der Pol, I was introduced to the concept of trim, advanced buoyancy control, and advanced finning techniques. Attempting to master these skills, I became interested in completing more advanced dives. Which lead me to technical diving.

I pursued an open circuit introduction to technical diving with Cape Ann Charters owned and operated by Matt Marcoux off the shores of Massachusetts. After completing the introduction I made the choice to commit myself to advanced technical diving utilizing rebreather technology and purchased a JJ-CCR pursuing recreational tri-mix as my entry to deep diving.

After months of entry level technical diving, building 50 hours on my unit locally, and internationally, I opted to follow my passion for challenging diving and pursue cave diving with Mel Clark in Florida.

Since my cave training I have completed over 100 dives in overhead environments and currently am engaged in support dives for Karst Underwater Research
