Deep In the Boston Harbour

Rich and deep rooted, the history of “Beantown” spans classrooms across the globe.

The Boston Tea Party and American Revolution, among others, left behind pieces to a greater story we are still looking to understand. While the city’s water may be littered with garbage and forgotten scraps/debris, below the waves Massachusetts Board of Underwater Archaeological Resource has uncovered the city may hold more answers than we initially thought.

Boston Harbour may be home to duck Boats, whale watching tours, and lobster rigs, but  below the surface there holds a greater unknown. While it is home to a number of fascinating artifacts left over from years past, the water is now home to a new inhabitant: garbage. We’ll highlight the contrast between the trash and treasure found in the depths of America’s most historic coastal city.
